2011 Nautica NYC Triathlon Lottery
Due to popular demand, registration for the Nautica New York City Triathlon will now be through a random lottery, rather than on a first come first served basis. You asked; we listened! Here’s how it works:
The lottery will be open for 72 hours, opening November 1st at 12:01 AM EST and closing November 3rd at 11:59 PM EST. The Lottery registration link will appear on this page, at www.nyctri.com, and will be emailed to all athletes on our mailing list.
You may enter the lottery either online or by mail. There is a non-refundable online pricing fee of $11.00 per athlete.
Applicants may register for the lottery as an Individual or as a Group. Group registration is for families, friends or other small groups (between 2-5 members) that only want to race if they can do so together. Group entries will essentially enter the lottery as an individual, but if that individual is selected, everyone in the group will also be selected. *Note: for relays, only one athlete needs to register for the lottery and should do so as an Individual. Relay entrants do not enter as a group.
The lottery includes a non-refundable online processing fee of $11 per athlete. Each relay team pays one $11 processing fee. A group pays $11 for each person in the group. For example, a group of four people pays a $44 lottery processing fee. Only one application per person. Any fees processed due to individuals submitting duplicate applications are non-refundable.
After the lottery closes, there will be an electronic random drawing of all applications. The Nautica New York City Triathlon has contracted a 3rd party to supervise and certify the 2011 Nautica New York City Triathlon lottery selection process.
All applicants will be notified via e-mail no later than 10:00 pm EST November 4 as to their registration status as follows:
If Selected: Selected applicants will receive an acceptance email from Active.com. To complete registration, selected applicants must click the registration link in the acceptance email, fill out the registration form, and pay the $245 entry fee by November 11, 2010. The lottery processing fee is not applied towards the race entry fee. Each member of selected Group entries must return to complete their registrations. Athletes who do not complete their registration by November 11th will forfeit their spots. All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable; Details can be found at www.nyctri.com
If Not Selected: Applicants that are not selected in the Random Draw will also receive an email from Active.com. This email will detail other registration options, including Champions Club and Charity Program entry spots.
