Rituxan & Decadron CLL Treatment Take 1 (again)
As some of you may know, I was in for another round of treatment yesterday to take care of a little flare up of my chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The plan is to knock it back with a handful of single day doses of Rituxan and decadron. These treatments will be spaced a month apart and [...]

Health Check
I just wanted to give everyone a quick health update so you all get the same message at the same time. The back story is that I had routine blood work and a CT scan done over the last couple of weeks. My blood work showed an elevated white count with a higher concentration of [...]

Be Well Philly Article
Philadelphia magazine’s health and fitness supplement, Be Well Philly, ran a nice piece on me in their current September issue. Thanks to editor Emily Leaman, and photographer Adam Jones, for capturing what’s been important in this journey. Pick it up at your local news stand or check it out here.

Living Strong
Last night I had the honor of addressing a roomful of cancer survivors at our local LIVESTRONG YMCA. I have been a member of this Y for about 20 years and a board member for another 6 or so. Given that I am also a leukemia survivor, I am always excited to meet, greet, and [...]

This is a tough pill to [...]

I have raced 11 ironman triathlons and 20 marathons and God knows how many shorter course events – and I love those distances and races. But I was searching for something different, or bigger, or just “more”.

South Africa, Two Oceans Interview
I was recently contacted by Kolosa Vuso with the South African marketing firm Tenfour Media to answer a few questions regarding my participation in the upcoming Two Oceans Ultra Marathon in Cape Town South Africa. The timing was quite ironic because I was just starting to contemplate a blog post on this very topic. I’m not [...]
