Wide Open Doors

For quite some time now I have stood by the statement that my leukemia diagnosis has opened more doors than it has closed and created more opportunities than it has taken away. I truly believe that but thought it would be even more enlightening to write down just what some of these opportunities have been. [...]

2016 NYC 26.2 and Grassroot Soccer (and Shep)

So, here’s the thing… For the past 7 years I have raced the NYC marathon with my good buddy Ethan Zohn in support of his charity Grassroot Soccer. A mutual friend introduced Ethan and I in 2009 knowing that we each shared a blood cancer diagnosis and we were both former soccer goalkeepers. What makes this [...]

Well another NYC marathon is in the books. This weekend marked my 7th time running the Big Apple and my 26th marathon overall. Riding Life’s Roller Coaster

It’s been an interesting few weeks. On November 3rd, I crossed the Verrazano Narrows bridge with 50,000 of my closest acquaintances on my way to finishing my 4th NYC marathon. It would have and should have been NYC number 5 but Hurricane Sandy had other thoughts last year. In a nice display of class, those [...]
